Everything you need to know about Granorte Tradition "River 72-131-00"

Established in 1972, Granorte Cork Flooring, a family business, has evolved into Portugal's premier cork flooring manufacturer. Committed to the highest environmental standards, Granorte delivers eco-friendly products that cater to diverse needs.

The Granorte Tradition collection is a line of high-quality cork flooring designed to deliver both durability and style. This collection is made from natural cork, a renewable and eco-friendly resource harvested from the bark of cork oak trees without harming the trees. The collection offers a wide range of colours and patterns to choose from, making it easy to find the perfect match for any room or space.

One of the key benefits of the Tradition collection from Granorte is its durability. Cork is a dense and resilient material that can withstand high levels of foot traffic and impact. It is also resistant to scratches, dents, and stains, making it a great choice for busy spaces. Additionally, cork is naturally resistant to mould and mildew, making it a great choice for damp environments.

Another benefit of the Tradition collection is its insulation properties. Cork is a naturally insulating material that helps to keep a space warm in the winter and cool in the summer. This can help to reduce energy costs and improve the overall comfort of a space.

The dimensions of the tile are 600 x 300 x 4 mm. The glue-down cork tiles are naturally sanded and unfinished; they do not contain any harmful chemicals. The flooring can be installed using the glue-down method and has a usage class of 23/32. This means that it can withstand high-traffic residential areas, as well as commercial areas with moderate traffic, if coated with the recommended lacquer from Granorte.

Important Installation & Finishing Information

The Granorte Tradition cork tiles are supplied naturally sanded and completely unfinished. This means:

  • The flooring must be varnished/sealed after installation and before use.

  • Without varnishing, the tiles are not protected against moisture, dirt, or wear and are not suitable for use in their raw state.

  • For residential and commercial applications, sealing with the recommended Easyfinish lacquer is essential to achieve durability and long-term performance.

Additionally, correct subfloor preparation is critical. The subfloor must be even, smooth, fully level, dry, and dust-free before installation. The adhesive we recommend for the installation is Wakol D3540

Overall, the Tradition collection from Granorte is a high-quality and durable cork flooring option that offers both style and functionality. It is an ideal choice for any space, whether residential or commercial, and its eco-friendliness, durability, and insulation properties make it a smart choice for any building or renovation project.
