Linoleum from Forbo is a durable everyday partner. To be able to use all its facets, the linoleum sheets must be glued to the existing subfloor over the entire surface. The full potential of linoleum can only be exploited through a permanent bond with the adhesive. Whether in schools, nurseries or hospitals: The installation of linoleum always follows the same work steps! These require a certain amount of work and time, which can be mastered by professional floor layers as well as hobby craftsmen, with a little skill and know-how.
You can always rely on linoleum as a renovation partner, especially for the long term! Once laid, linoleum flooring can withstand heavy loads for years, making even the more costly renovation practice of glueing it down worthwhile. Although the installation of glue-down flooring may involve a certain amount of extra time, with a little know-how, it can be done by anyone. In order to lay linoleum flooring for glueing, basic work steps are required: preparation, laying and drying. In the first step, the subfloor of the area to be renovated must be cleaned of old flooring, dirt and grease as well as unevenness (cracks, holes and the like). Then the linoleum sheets must be adapted to the existing room dimensions. In particular, cut-outs for bay windows and heating pipes must be made so that nothing stands in the way of the final installation. After that, the linoleum covering only needs to be firmly bonded to the subfloor. For this step, the subfloor must first be provided with an even adhesive base. The manufacturer's recommendations for adhesives should be followed. The linoleum can then be embedded in the adhesive layer. The individual strips or cuttings must be laid end to end in the adhesive foundation so that there are no gaps and overlapping of the strips should also be avoided. As soon as the room has been completely fitted with the linoleum, the adhesive foundation only needs to harden or dry so that the linoleum flooring is firmly bonded to the subfloor.
As a special floor covering, the 4.0 mm thick linoleum Forbo Marmoleum Acoustic is a particularly comfortable and noise-reducing linoleum floor. Here the linoleum convinces with an approx. 14 dB high-impact sound improvement. But the linoleum flooring also has a lot to offer beyond that: numerous technical quality features that make the linoleum a hard-wearing and robust everyday companion. The linoleum flooring of the Marmoleum Acoustic selection from the brand manufacturer Forbo convinces with technical product features such as light fastness level ≥ 6, slip resistance R9, fire behaviour Cfl-s1 and suitability for chair castors (type W). With these and many other technical quality features, the linoleum flooring in this selection is a reliable and robust floor covering.
